R is For Reishi

My theme for the
A-Z Challenge is
Aging into Longevity

The Taoists consider
Reishi mushroom to
be an "elixir" of
immortality.  It is
preceeded, at least
by 2 thousand years,
by it's radiant health
and superior anti-aging
properties. How's that for starters?

Reishi is also held in high esteem for it's ability to
fine-tune the immune system to give us protection
against viruses, parasites, bacteria, chemicals, and mold.
It also rates  high for an anti-stress herb. Another plus is
that it counter-balances coffee, chocolate, yerba mate
and green tea. It is also one of the safest herbs and is
non-toxic.
I love the medicinal mushrooms and this one is the
one to use if you are just beginning your Longevity
quest. Power..... always look for the power.

Yes, with the main emphasis on "healthy." It's got to be healthy or I'm not waiting around. Hahaha

I've noticed that many of the formulas have a mixture of different medicinal mushrooms. I know they perk me up.

  3. I'm going to make a note of this and see if I can find it at the health food store? You're posting such unusual and interesting things. Would love to hear about the homeless group you started. Where in Columbus are you going to be this wkend? Leave your email in my contact form, right sidebar so we can communicate about time table etc in hopes of meeting up.

So good to see you. I hope you are blooming just like the springtime.
The mushrooms come in all forms but I usualy use the tincture , as they are combines with other ingredients. They do give me pep if I put several drops in a smoothie.
Thanks for dropping by. It's very nice to see you and I hope you are blooming like the springtime.

That's how I like the medicinal mushrooms.... in a tea or I find them very healthy in a tincture along with other ingredients.

Actually, I think Reichi is the best known of the medicinal mushrooms. They have been around over 2,000 years. The Holy Ghost has been around a while too, hahaha

  10. My first to have heard of it. I don't know the name of any mushrooms (except Portobello and those don't count). ;)

  11. Thanks, I researched this and see it acts as an anticoagulant so I ordered some. I have mild afib and don't want to start taking Warfarin and am allergic to aspirin. This may just fill the bill.
